ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Thank you for choosing Mex Rent A Car. Our representative will await your arrival at the Airport. Emergency pickup phone 407-4211-4433 Bucharest Airport and 407-4517-9555 Cluj-Napoca Airport. Please proceed to the arrivals terminal, in the Car Rental Facility area where an agent will arrange the shuttle to pick you up and take you to the main office to collect the car.
RULES
All customers should present the following documents in order to proceed with the rental:
- Valid official ID (Passport).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Credit Card.
GRACE PERIOD
Vehicles will be kept up to 2 hours from the reservation start time. After 2 hours the reservation is considered a no show. If the flight number is supplied by the customer, the 2 hour period will apply to the arrival time of the flight.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER
A charge of $4.00 USD per day plus taxes applies to additional drivers with a maximum of 2 per rental.
DRIVERS LICENSE
All drivers must present a valid drivers license during pick up. The license must have more than 1 year of usage and be in roman alphabet. If you do not have a roman alphabet license, a valid international license will be requested.
AGE
Minimum age is 21 and maximum is 72. A charge of $11.00 USD per day plus taxes applies to renters between 21 and 25.
DEPOSIT
Required deposits are based on the coverage included and the car class selected. Deposit can go from $2,500.00 to $8,000.00 USD.
ONE-WAY RENTALS
One-way rentals are available depending on the drop-off site. A charge of $180.00 USD may apply for One-Way rentals. Please ask for more details at the counter.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
GPS units are available at the counter for $8.50 USD per day plus taxes.
Child Seats are also available for $4.00 USD per day plus taxes with a maximum of 2 per rental.
Winter tires are mandatory and are $3.95 USD per day plus taxes between November 1 to March 31.
FUEL
Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of rental to avoid refueling charges. Refueling charge will be around $3.00 USD per liter plus taxes.
GEOGRAPHIC
Vehicles can be used only in Romania. $2,000 USD fine plus taxes and all coverages voided if the vehicle is crossing the border. If this applies, any insurance added to the rental agreement will be canceled.
MILEAGE
The mileage is unlimited.
NO SMOKING
Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. If any smoke is detected, a cleaning fee will apply.
PAYMENT
Credit Cards accepted: Visa, MasterCard. Cash, Debit and checks are not accepted. No refunds for early returns or contract cancellations.
PREPAID RESERVATIONS
Mex Rent A Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if it considers that the driver is not able to drive or if the driver does not comply with the rules described on these terms, even if the booking has been prepaid. Therefore, it is very important that you familiarize the terms and the documents that need to be presented at pick up. For more information, please contact us at +52 (33) 4624 2114.
INSURANCE AND WAIVER OPTIONS
Third Party Liability is not included, it costs $99.95 USD per day plus taxes. For more information regarding insurance options please ask our agents at the counter.
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) is available at the counter from $16.95 to $49.95 USD per day plus taxes with a minimum charge of $49.95 USD. If no coverage is purchased from location the deposit hold for the car will be $4,000 USD and renters must produce at pickup letter of rent a car full coverage for theft and damages. If coverage purchased from location deposit hold for the car is between $200-$1500 USD depending on the car class booked. For renters using their own coverage, optional $16.95 USD/day coverage processing fee may be applied. This fee will also reduce their deposit payment down to max $1,000 USD in case a damage/theft occurs provided necessary documents are produced at time of the loss according to rental agreement terms.
LDR (Loss Deposit Reduction) is available at the counter from $16.95 to $79.95 USD per day plus taxes(negotiable) with a minimum charge of $49.95 USD to reduce responsibility deposit for the vehicle between 0-1000USD as agreed with the renter . If no coverage is purchased from location the deposit held for the car will be $4,000 USD+tax and renters must show proof for theft and damages
If coverage purchased from location, deposit hold for the car is between $200-$1,500 USD depending on the car class booked. For renters using their own coverage, optional $16.95 USD/day coverage processing fee may be applied. This fee will also reduce their deposit payment down to max $1,000 USD in case a damage/theft occurs provided necessary documents are produced at time of the loss according to rental agreement terms.
RSA (RoadSide Assistance) is available for $3.95 USD per day plus taxes. PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) is available for $3.95 USD per day plus taxes.
When third party liability is not shown as included in the rate and the customer does not have written proof of insurance, this must be added at the counter. The cost of third party liability is $99.95 USD per day plus taxes.
Our agents can provide you with further information upon arrival, the price will depend on the type of insurance and vehicle.
*In case of accident/damage/theft to the rental vehicle POLICE REPORT AND REPAIR AUTHORIZATION MUST BE OBTAINED. Failure to do so will void all coverages and renter will be fully responsible for the Loss including but not limited to downtime, loss of use and administrative costs. No amicable settlements allowed.
OUT OF HOURS
If the vehicle is picked-up or returned between 8pm and 9am a pickup/drop off charge of $29.95 USD plus taxes will apply for all rentals.
INTERNET RESERVATIONS
Rates that are impacted by a website technical issue, database issue or other means will not be honored by the location if the rate display was inaccurate due to a technical issue or tampering issue to change the rate display.
EXCHANGE RATE
Due fluctuations on the currency exchange rate, have in mind that the total charged on your credit card might differ from the total displayed on our website. The difference (if any) will depend on the currency exchange rate between the moment when the booking was made and the moment when the charge is reflected on your credit card statement. In the event we have to refund any amount to your account, we will refund the exact same amount charged originally and we will not be responsible for any currency fluctuation that may occur and that results in a higher or lower refund than the one expected.
Multiple or Duplicate Reservations: If you require multiple vehicles for the same or overlapping time periods, please make sure to use a different name for each reservation, otherwise the duplicate name reservations will be automatically canceled. Mex Rent A Car will not be responsible for such cancellations.
CANCELLATIONS
Please cancel your booking through the same channel where you reserved to avoid extra charges. $50 USD + TAX to be charged for no shows or reservation cancellations within less than 48 hours from start time. A reservation is considered no show if customer doesn’t show within 2 hours from start time or flight arrival if flight number is supplied.
