SHUTTLE/ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Thank you for choosing Mex Rent a Car. Upon arrival, please exit the arrival area where a Mex Rent a Car representative will meet you at the airport and will provide you with further instructions to take the shuttle to our main office.You will identify our staff with a Mex Rent a Car sign. You can also call at 876-463-8738 or 876-952-3347 for any inquiry or further instructions.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER
It is allowed to add additional drivers and each one will be subject to the same regulations as the primary driver. Each additional driver will apply for an additional fee of 10 USD including tax per day.
AGE
Minimum rental age permitted is 21 years.
CANCELLATIONS
If your booking was confirmed through the website www.mexrentacar.com or through our Call Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to request your cancellation. If your booking was confirmed through a third-party website (broker, online travel agency, etc.) please use the same third-party website to request your cancellation. Some third-party sites have cancellation fees if the booking is not cancelled within a certain period of time. Mex Rent a Car will not be responsible for such cancellation fees.
DEPOSIT
Required deposit depends on the coverage or protection selected, as well as the type of vehicle. The security deposit amount is $500.00 USD
The security deposit will be only a hold place onto the customer's credit card, and the release time will be up to 15 business days, depending on each bank branch.
The following payment methods are accepted: MasterCard, Visa, Diners, Discover.
DRIVERS LICENSE
At the counter all drivers must present a valid driver's license from U.S, Canada or International licenses.
EXCHANGE RATE
Due fluctuations on the currency exchange rate, have in mind that the total charged on your credit card might differ from the total displayed on our website. The difference (if any) will depend on the currency exchange rate between the moment when the booking was made and the moment when the charge is reflected on your credit card statement. In the event we have to refund any amount to your account, we will refund the exact same amount charged originally and we will not be responsible for any currency fluctuation that may occur and that results in a higher or lower refund than the one expected.
FUEL
Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of rental to avoid refueling charges.
GEOGRAPHIC
Vehicles can only be driven within the island of Jamaica.
GRACE PERIOD
Reservations will be honored for a period of 6 hours after the confirmed pick up date and time. In case of delayed arrival you must contact the location directly prior to the scheduled arrival time. After this period, we cannot guarantee the reserved vehicle, but you can be sure we will do everything in our power to provide you with a vehicle.
INSURANCE AND WAIVER OPTIONS
All of our reservations for this location include TPL (Third party liability) on the rate.
The following options are available to add at the counter:
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI):
It is available for $15.00 USD plus tax per day.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Limits the responsibility of the renter up to 10% over the value of the vehicle. The cost for this protection depends on the category of the vehicle as the following breakdown:
MCAR (Mini) and CCAR (Compact): $10.00 USD plus tax per day
ICAR (Intermediate): $15.00 USD plus tax per day
FCAR (Full Size): $20.00 USD plus tax per day
MVAR (Midsize Van): $20.00 USD plus tax per day
LCAR (Luxury): $20.00 USD plus tax per day
IFAR (Intermediate SUV): $20.00 USD plus tax per day
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW): Limits the responsibility of the customer over the rented vehicle to a deductible of 0% of the car value. Please ask for further details at the counter. It is available for $15.00 USD plus tax per day.
MILEAGE
All rental rates include unlimited mileage.
NO SMOKING
Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. If any smoke is detected, a cleaning fee will apply.
ONE-WAY RENTALS
One-way rentals are not available for this location.
ONLINE BOOKINGS
Rates that are impacted by a website technical issue, database issue or other means will not be honored by the location if the rate display was inaccurate due to a technical issue or tampering issue to change the rate display.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Child Seats are available for an additional charge of $10.00 USD plus tax per day for each child seat. If the seat is not returned in the same condition, less normal wear and tear as received, a cleaning fee will be assessed. If the seat is damaged a repair or replacement charge will apply. (Subject to availability).
Cell Phone Rentals are available for $10.00 USD plus tax per day for each. Cell Phones must be returned on the same conditions, or else, a charge will apply.
GPS units are available for $10.00 USD plus tax per day. Please ask for details at time of rental.
PAYMENTS
At the time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following payment methods are accepted: American Express, Visa Credit/Visa Debit, MasterCard Credit/MasterCard Debit, Diners Card, Discover Card and Cash.
The name on the credit card and driver's license must match.
PREPAID RESERVATIONS
Mex Rent A Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if it considers that the driver is not able to drive or if the driver does not comply with the rules described on these terms, even if the booking has been prepaid. Therefore, it is very important that you comply with the terms and the documents that need to be presented at pick up. For more information, please contact us at +52 (33) 4624 2114.
RULES
All customers should present the following documents in order to proceed with the rental:
- Official ID (Passport).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Credit Card on the main driver’s name.
The same credit card or same cardholder cannot be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same time period.
We recommend you to check more specifications on DRIVERS LICENSE and DEPOSIT.
TOLLS
All tolls payment must be paid directly by the renter.
MULTIPLE OR DUPLICATED RESERVATIONS: If you require multiple vehicles for the same or overlapping time periods, please make sure to use a different name for each reservation, otherwise the duplicate name reservations will be automatically cancelled. Mex Rent A Car will not be responsible for such cancellations.
