ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Thank you for choosing Mex Rent a Car Spain.
Barcelona Airport: Our vehicles are picked up at our office adjacent to the airport, located at Plaça Pla de l'Estany, 1, 2, 08820, El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, Level -1, Parking Hotel Barcelona Airport Affiliated by Melià. Upon arrival, to take the complimentary shuttle bus that will take you to our office (running every 15–20 minutes), please follow these instructions:
Terminal 1: From the baggage claim area, head to the main hall and follow the signs to “Parking G” until you exit to the outside. Go down to the lower level and walk to your left to find the bus area, where you will find our free minibus that will take you to our facilities. You can notify the office of your arrival at the meeting point by calling +34 971 730 696
Terminal 2: Once you have collected your luggage, exit to the outside and follow the signs toward Terminals B and C. Please note that the terminal is divided into three sections: A, B, and C. At the end of Terminal B, continue straight ahead until you reach the minibus parking lot. At the far end of this parking lot, you will find our free minibus, which will take you to our facilities. You can notify the office of your arrival at the meeting point by calling +34 971 730 696.
Madrid Airport: Our vehicles are picked up at our office adjacent to the airport, located at Calle Lola Flores, 20, 28022, Madrid, Level -1, Parking, Madrid Airport Suites Affiliated by Melià. Upon arrival, to take the complimentary shuttle bus that will take you to our office (running every 15–20 minutes), please follow these instructions. RULES
It is important to know what documentation will be required when you pick up your car:
- Valid government-issued ID (passport).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Credit card.
- Contact number
The same credit card or cardholder cannot be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same time period. The credit card must be presented in person.
The passport must be valid for the duration of the rental agreement.
The primary driver must have held their driver’s license for at least 6 months.
GRACE PERIOD
Your reservation includes a 3-hour grace period after your confirmed arrival time. After this time, we cannot guarantee the reserved vehicle, but rest assured that we will do our best to provide you with a transportation solution.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER
The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the primary driver. The minimum age is 18 years and 6 months, applicable only to the following vehicle categories included in Group 1: ECMN, MCMR, ECMR, NCAR, EDMR, EDAR, EDAH. Additionally, they must pay the Junior Driver fee, which is $324 MXN per day, or the equivalent of 15.95 euros per day. Up to 3 additional drivers may be added, in addition to the primary driver.
For all other vehicle categories, the minimum age to rent is 21 years old, and the driver must have held a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years. It is not permitted to rent, or to be added as an additional driver for vehicles designated as Special Groups in point 17 of this same Section A, if under 30 years of age.
Below are the costs for additional drivers according to age group:
Additional Driver: Costs $182 MXN per day or the equivalent of 8.95 euros per day.
Novice Driver: Costs $162 MXN per day or the equivalent of 7.95 euros per day. Drivers
under 25 years of age and/or with less than 4 years of driving experience.
Junior Driver: Costs $323 MXN per day or the equivalent of 15.95 euros per day. Drivers under 21 years of age and/or with less than 2 years of driving experience.
Senior Driver: The cost is $162 MXN per day, or the equivalent of 7.95 euros per day. Drivers over 75 years of age.
AGE
The minimum age to rent a car is 18 years and 6 months. You may only rent vehicles in Group 1, which includes the following categories: ECMN, MCMR, ECMR, NCAR, EDMR, EDAR, EDAH. Additionally, you must pay the Junior Driver fee, which is $324 MXN per day, or the equivalent of 15.95 euros per day.
For all other vehicle categories, the minimum age to rent is 21 years old, and you must have held a driver’s license for at least 2 years.
DEPOSIT
As a guarantee against potential damage, a security deposit (hereinafter, pre-authorization) is required in the form of a hold on the credit card for an amount equivalent to the deductible corresponding to the rented category: €1,000 for Group 1, €1,200 for Group 2, €1,700 for Industrial Groups, €2,000 for Group 3, and €4,000 for Special Groups. This security deposit excludes administrative fees, recovery costs, or other possible charges unrelated to damage caused to the rented vehicle, as well as damage not subject to the deductible.
GEOGRAPHY
Under no circumstances may the vehicle be taken out of the country or loaded onto a ship or ferry, unless the appropriate services have been arranged.
If you wish to travel between the Balearic Islands, you must purchase the ‘Inter-Island Crossing’ service. Likewise, crossing borders is only permitted to the following countries: Andorra, France, Portugal, and Gibraltar, provided that the ‘Border Crossing’ service has been purchased. You can check the prices in the following section.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AND EXTRAS
Child seats:
- Child seat 0+: Infant seat for 0 to 13 kg, or 0–15 months. It costs $222 MXN per day or 10.95 euros per day.
- Group 1 child seat: Child seat for 9 to 18 kg, or 9 months to 4 years. It costs $222 MXN per day or 10.95 euros per day.
- Group 1 child seat with ISOFIX: Child seat for 9 to 18 kg, or 9 months to 4 years. It costs $263 MXN per day or 12.95 euros per day.
- Child seat Group 2: Child seat for 15 to 25 kg, or ages 4 to 6. It costs $222 MXN per day or 10.95 euros per day.
- Group 3 Child Seat: Child seat for 22 to 36 kg, or ages 6 to 12. It costs $161 MXN per day or 7.95 euros per day.
Inter-island travel: This option allows the renter to travel with the vehicle between the Balearic Islands, provided there is a Clickrent office on the island, and to return the vehicle to the same location where it was picked up. It does not exempt the renter from any payment for damage caused to the vehicle and is independent of the coverage purchased. Travel to the island of Formentera is strictly prohibited. The cost is $2,300.00 MXN or the equivalent of 110 euros, depending on the exchange rate.
Crossing borders: Purchasing this product allows you to cross borders ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY to the countries included in the following list: Andorra, France, Portugal, and Gibraltar. Crossing borders to countries not on this list is not permitted. Crossing borders without this product will result in a penalty imposed on the customer for “improper or unauthorized use.” Additional penalties are listed in Section XX,XX of these terms and conditions. This does not exempt the customer from any payment for damage caused to the vehicle and is independent of the coverage purchased. The cost is $407 MXN or the equivalent of 19.99 euros per day, with a maximum of 15 days.
Beach chair: The cost is $304 MXN or the equivalent of 15 euros per umbrella. Subject to availability; prior consultation with the pickup/drop-off office is required.
Snow chains: The cost is $161 MXN per day or the equivalent of 7.95 euros per day. Subject to availability; prior consultation with the pickup/drop-off office is required.
FUEL
1. Full-to-Full Option: Vehicles are delivered with a full tank at no charge and must be returned in the same condition. If fuel is missing upon return, the cost of the missing fuel will be charged to the customer, along with a handling and refueling fee of €35.
2. Quick Return Option: Vehicles are delivered with a full tank, and the cost of the fuel is charged to the customer at the time the rental contract is signed, along with a €35 handling and refueling fee. Upon return of the vehicle and after verifying the fuel level according to the gauge (divided into eight segments), the amount corresponding to the unused fuel will be refunded. The administration and refueling fee is non-refundable.
3. Purchasing the “Prepaid Fuel” option: allows the customer to prepay for the full tank, enabling the vehicle to be returned completely empty without paying the refueling fee. Returning the vehicle with fuel will not result in any credit. The cost of the tank will be determined by the table indicated in point 6 of this section.
4. Any issues regarding the condition of the vehicle’s fuel tank at the time of pickup must be reported by the customer before leaving the premises. No claims will be accepted after this time.
5. ClickRent’s fuel prices for each category are published and updated at www.clickrent.es/rate. This does not include the refueling fee. (Average price per liter / annual * vehicle capacity)
RETURN AT A DIFFERENT BRANCH
You can pick up your car at one branch and return it at another. A drop-off fee may apply, and the cost will depend on the distance between the pickup and return branches. For more information, ask our agents at the counter. The drop-off service is subject to review and authorization by the branch.
MILEAGE
Mileage is limited for rentals within the Iberian Peninsula. 250 km per rental day are included at no cost, with a maximum of 1,750 km per contract. Any kilometers exceeding the permitted or contracted maximum will be charged upon return of the vehicle. €0.50 per excess kilometer.
Early return of the vehicle will adjust the mileage based on the calculation of 250 km per rental day (with a maximum of 1,750 kilometers per contract).
Extended Mileage Package. €80
Purchasing the extended mileage package increases the daily limit to 500 km, with a maximum of 3,500 km per contract.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
All renters/drivers must present a valid driver's license at the time of vehicle pickup. The primary driver must have held a driver's license for at least 6 months. There are restrictions on vehicle categories based on age, as well as driver fees based on age.
NO SMOKING
Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. If smoke is detected, a cleaning fee will be charged.
PAYMENTS
We do not accept payments with Amex, Diners, Maestro (or any ECKarte), prepaid cards, or non-personalized cards. Virtual card payments are accepted. The cardholder’s name and card number must be clearly displayed, either on the virtual card itself or in the app where it is hosted.
PREPAYMENTS
Mex Rent A Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if it determines that the driver is unfit to drive or does not meet the established requirements, even if the reservation has been prepaid. Therefore, it is very important that you are aware of the requirements that must be met when picking up your vehicle. For more information, please contact us at +52 (33) 4624 2114.
COVERAGE AND INSURANCE
1. All rates include CDW insurance that covers third-party liability up to a limit of 50 million euros and damage to the rental vehicle (with some exceptions), with a deductible based on the vehicle’s group and category:
- GROUP 1: €1,000
- GROUP 2: €1,200
- GROUP 3: €2,000
- SPECIAL GROUPS: €4,000
- INDUSTRIAL GROUP: €1,700
2. Any category not expressly mentioned will be subject to the conditions of the group in which it is alphabetically included. This security deposit excludes administrative fees, recovery costs, or other possible charges unrelated to damage caused to the rented vehicle, as well as damage not subject to the deductible.
3. In the event of vehicle replacement due to breakdown or accident, the customer will be required to provide a new pre-authorization for an amount corresponding to the new vehicle provided.
4. Damage to the undercarriage, running boards, roof, interior, convertible top, keys, dashboard, antenna, or clutch, as well as damage caused by driving on poorly paved or unpaved roads, refueling with the wrong type of fuel, the loss or damage to vehicle accessories (such as warning triangles, safety vests, child seats, etc.), to integral parts, to the lessee’s property, as well as roadside assistance expenses, shall not be covered under any circumstances by either the CDW insurance or the additional coverage purchased.
5. Damage to the clutch is not covered under any circumstances. Such damage shall be considered a direct consequence of the use and operation of the vehicle during the term of this contract and is therefore the sole responsibility of the customer.
6. Damage resulting from refueling with the wrong fuel or failure to refuel is entirely excluded and is the customer’s sole responsibility. This includes cleaning the fuel tank, any resulting breakdowns, and any necessary roadside assistance.
7. Roadside assistance, windows, and tires are not included in the CDW insurance but may be covered by purchasing additional coverage at the time the contract is signed.
8. Basic CDW insurance only includes roadside assistance when the cause is a vehicle breakdown not attributable to the customer’s use. All other cases are subject to the coverage purchased at the time the contract is signed.
9. Any type of coverage offered by ClickRent SL (ClickRelax, reduced deductible, tire and windshield coverage, roadside assistance) does not cover personal injury sustained by the renter (PAI) or personal belongings left in, stored in, or transported in the vehicle.
10. At the time of signing the rental agreement, ClickRent offers the option to purchase the following complementary services as part of its extra coverage (this is a contractual add-on product from ClickRent and not an insurance policy with an insurance company):
• Tires and Windows Coverage. This removes these items from the list of exclusions under CDW insurance, so any damage to tires, rims, and windows is covered, except for damage resulting from negligence, reckless driving, or unauthorized use.
• Deductible Reduction Coverage. Reduces the damage deductible to €0 (except for Industrial Groups, where it is reduced to €500) and reduces the mandatory pre-authorization amount to €350 (except for Special Groups, where it is reduced to €1,700, and Industrial Groups, where both the pre-authorization and the deductible are reduced to €500).
• Roadside Assistance Coverage: This roadside assistance service includes a 24-hour hotline that you should call at +34 971 73 06 96 in case of need. Roadside assistance is guaranteed within a maximum of 6 hours for the following reasons: flat tires, accidents, or vehicle breakdowns due to mechanical failure.
The replacement vehicle service within Spain is subject to availability.
If transportation is needed (provided the vehicle is no longer operational), a total of 45 km of taxi fare is covered for the vehicle’s passengers to one of our offices or an overnight accommodation. The customer may request reimbursement by submitting a complete invoice for the service; the following information must be included:
Date, time, pickup location, distance traveled, total amount, and billing information for the company providing the service. No receipt that does not meet these requirements will be accepted. For receipts exceeding the specified distance, a refund will be issued for the portion proportional to the specified mileage.
In cases where the “Cruce de Fronteras” product has been purchased outside of Spain, the provision of a replacement vehicle and taxi service is excluded from roadside assistance coverage. In such situations, the customer is responsible for arranging their own transportation if on-site vehicle repair is not possible. Likewise, failure to purchase the “Crossing Borders” product will completely exclude roadside assistance coverage, and the customer will be solely responsible for both their transportation and the costs of repairing and repatriating the vehicle.
Assistance resulting from negligent acts or unauthorized use of the vehicle is expressly excluded, including, but not limited to: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, participation in illegal races, or any other use of the vehicle contrary to current legal provisions.
11. In cases of breakdown caused by the driver’s negligence, the full cost of the repair will be charged, as well as items not subject to the deductible and listed in sections B.4, B.5, B.6, B.7, and B.8, which may exceed the blocked amount.
12. All coverage is subject to the customer’s compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in the rental agreement. This includes the obligation to submit an accident report form, or, failing that, a police report or statement, within 48 hours of the incident occurring. Failure to comply with this obligation will result in the automatic exclusion of the contracted coverage, and the customer will no longer be entitled to such coverage.
13. Damage caused by the customer that is not covered by the contracted coverage will be charged to the provided credit card according to the table of part values, labor hours, and repair time published at www.clickrent.es/rate, available in ANNEX 3 of this document, and previously shown to the customer.
14. Any coverage purchased from third-party providers does not reduce the deductible or provide any coverage through ClickRent; it is the customer’s responsibility to claim any potential reimbursement for damages from the external company.
15. Any alteration to the vehicle not noted in the Pickup (Delivery) document, as well as any operational issues, must be reported to ClickRent staff before leaving the premises or the vehicle’s delivery location.
16. Any warning light that comes on in the vehicle during the rental period must be reported immediately to the office or the designated roadside assistance provider; the renter is liable for any damages resulting from failure to comply with this obligation.
17. It is prohibited to make any modifications or repairs to the rented vehicle without the express consent of ClickRent.
18. Theft Protection (TP) will only apply when the renter returns the original set of keys and the original police report regarding the incident. This refers to the customer’s liability for the entire vehicle. Broken windows or damage to the vehicle due to vandalism or attempted theft of personal items from the interior are excluded.
Early/Late Return:
Early return: Returning the vehicle early will not result in any refund.
Time-of-day surcharges: All pickups and returns are free of charge during the office’s business hours, which may vary throughout the year and will be communicated and posted in advance. Outside these hours, the following surcharges apply, as previously agreed: o Nighttime vehicle pickup: €55 o Nighttime vehicle return: €55 • The office’s current business hours are available to customers on the website www.clickrent.es. If you have any questions, we recommend that you call +34 971 730 696 to request more information before making a reservation.
Multiple or Duplicate Reservations: If you need to rent multiple vehicles for the same time period, be sure to use different names for each reservation; otherwise, duplicate reservations will be automatically canceled. Mex Rent a Car is not responsible for such cancellations.
ONLINE RESERVATIONS
Rates affected by a technical issue with the website, the database, or other systems, or if the displayed rate is incorrect due to a technical issue or an attempt to manipulate the displayed rate, will not be honored by the rental company.
Any tampering with the displayed rate will not be honored by the rental company.
EXCHANGE RATE
Due to exchange rate fluctuations, please note that the amount charged to your credit card may differ from the price quoted on our website. The difference (if any) will depend on the exchange rate during the period between when the reservation was made and when the charge appears on your credit card statement. Similarly, in the event that we need to issue a refund to your account, we will refund the exact amount initially charged and will not be responsible for any fluctuations that may result in a refund higher or lower than expected.
CANCELLATIONS
If your reservation was confirmed through the website www.mexrentacar.com or through our Reservation Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to cancel it. If your reservation was confirmed through a third-party site (broker, online travel agency, etc.), please use the same channel to request your cancellation. Some third-party sites charge cancellation fees if the reservation is not canceled within a certain period of time prior to your rental. Mex Rent A Car is not responsible for such cancellation fees.
