General Terms and Conditions
Definitions. "Agreement" means these Terms & Conditions and the Face Page. "You" or "Your" is the person named as the renter in this Agreement, each person signing this Agreement, each Authorized Driver, and each person or organization to whom charges are billed by us at its or the renter's direction. All persons referred to as "you" or "your" are jointly and severally bound by this Agreement, including all payment obligations. " We", "our" or "us" means the independent Stride Rent a Car franchisee named in this
Agreement. "Authorized Driver" means (a) the renter; (b) additional renters listed by us in this Agreement; (c) the renter’s spouse, and (d) a person who operates the Vehicle: (i) while parking it at a commercial establishment, or (ii) in an emergency. Each Authorized Driver must be at least age 21. Only Authorized Drivers may use the Vehicle.
"Vehicle" means the car or truck identified in this Agreement or its replacement and includes tires, tools, accessories, equipment, keys, and Vehicle documents. The Vehicle may be equipped with a GPS or other telematics system or an event data recorder, and privacy is not guaranteed. “Loss of Use" means the loss of our ability to use the Vehicle due to damage or loss, including for non-rental uses, such as display for rent or sale, opportunity to upgrade or sell, or transportation of employees. Damages for Loss of Use are difficult to determine with precision, and you and we agree that: Loss of Use will be calculated by multiplying the number of days from the date the Vehicle is damaged or lost until it is replaced or repaired by the daily rental rate; and this represents a reasonable estimate of actual damages and not a penalty. “Diminished Value” means the difference between the fair market value of the Vehicle before damage and its value after repairs as calculated by a third-party estimate obtained by us or on our behalf. “CDW” means Collision Damage Waiver. "Physical Damage" means damage to, or loss of, the Vehicle caused by collision or upset. Physical Damage does not include comprehensive damage such as damage to or loss of the Vehicle due to theft, vandalism, act of nature, riot or civil disturbance, hail, flood or fire or other loss not caused by collision or upset. “Charges” means the fees and charges incurred under this
Agreement.
SHUTTLE/ARRIVAL INFORMATION
FORT LAUDERDALE (FLL): Free shuttle bus service Terminal 1: Please walk to the car rental center and follow signs for Off Site rental cars and county buses. Proceed to bus stop G and await the Stride bus.
Terminals 2, 3 & 4: Please take the airport shuttle to the car rental center. Please follow signs for Off Site rental cars and county buses. Proceed to bus stop G and await the Stride Shuttle bus.
ORLANDO (MCO): Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, please proceed to the Ground Transportation Level (1st Floor of the Terminal) which is one level below the baggage claim level, call us +1 305 988 6125 and wait for the shuttle identified as Mex Rent a Car at:
Terminal A, proceed to pick up spaces A11 – A12 or A13
Terminal B, proceed to pick up spaces B11 – B12 or B13
Terminal C, proceed to pick up Spaces C277- C278
TAMPA (TPA): From baggage claim, follow the signs to the SkyConnect train for the Car Hire Centre. Take the SkyConnect to the Car Hire Centre. Once you exit the train, walk straight ahead to the rental counters and look for the Mex Rent A Car logo.
MIAMI (MIA): After taking your luggage you must go to the MIA Mover Station located on the third level, between the Flamingo and Dolphin Parking Garages at the airport; it connects with the airport's third level moving walkways to the Rental Car Center. Then, take the exit of the building and you must go to the Shuttle Stop 1 or 2.
Our shuttle is identified with the logos Stride and Mex Rent a Car. One of our uniformed staff will pick you up there and will take you to our offices where we will perform the corresponding procedures and be ready for your trip.

GENERAL RULES
You must present your company’s reservation receipt upon arrival at the rental office. In case you do not present the voucher; we are not responsible for any additional rental expenses. This applies when the reservation receipt has not been presented to the local agency at the time of vehicle collection. If you fail to present any of the required documents, if the documentation is invalid, or if you do not have sufficient funds on your credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to deliver the vehicle, and no refund will be provided.
For any changes in pick-up time, please notify us in writing via email at help@rentcar.rent at least 48 hours prior to the reservation to ensure availability. If we receive notification later than that, availability for the rental vehicle or category is not guaranteed.
• Smoking/Vaping Policy: Smoking or Vaping is not permitted in our vehicles. If you smoke in one of our vehicles, you will be charged an additional cleaning fee of USD 450 plus tax.
• Deductible/Excess: The deductible/excess is the maximum amount you will have to pay to repair or replace the rental car if it is damaged or stolen.
• Security Deposit: A deposit will be blocked on the customer’s credit card and held until 10 to 30 days after the end of the rental period. The security deposit varies from USD 250 to USD 2,500 for all cars. Local residents are required to pay a minimum $1,000 USD deposit when renting a vehicle.
• Vehicle Models: The make and models mentioned are indicative only. You may receive
vehicles from the same class, but specific models cannot be guaranteed.
• Rate Calculation: Rates are typically calculated based on collection and return to the
same rental location unless you specify a different pick-up and drop-off location during
reservation.
• Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis from the scheduled pick-up time.
• Unconfirmed Reservations: Service is not provided for unconfirmed reservations. Make sure your reservation is confirmed before your rental period.
• Multiple/Duplicate Reservations: If you make multiple or duplicate reservations, they must be in different names. Otherwise, they may not be honored and could be subject to an admin fee or cancellation.
Renter Qualifications/Additional Drivers:
• Minimum rental age: 21 years.
• Additional drivers: You can add up to 2 additional drivers. There is a charge of USD 12.99 plus tax per day per additional driver.
• Young driver fee: Applies to all drivers under 25 years old (USD 14.99 plus tax per day).
• Maximum rental age: 74 years.
• Senior driver fee: Applies to drivers aged 70 and above (USD 9.99 plus tax per day).
Driver’s License:
• Authorized entities must have issued the driver’s license at least 2 years before the date of the commencement of the rental and should be valid for the next 30 days after the rental period concludes.
• The renter must provide a valid driver’s license in the Latin alphabet. If the driver’s license is not in the Latin alphabet, an international driver’s license is required.
• For Non-US Residents: A passport or another government-issued ID (in addition to the driver’s license) will be required.
Documents Required for Pick-Up:
To pick up the car, you will need the following documents:
• Valid driver’s license in the main driver’s name.
• Credit card in the main driver’s name.
• Passport in the main driver’s name. (International Driver)
CONDITION OF VEHICLE
Responsibility: It is the renter’s responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle at pickup time. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when rented (both interior and the exterior must be acceptable for further rental without cleaning) to avoid a regular cleaning charge from USD 35 plus taxes.
• Dissatisfaction: If the renter is not satisfied with the condition of the car, they should inform the station immediately for a replacement before checking out of the location.
• Additional Charges: Excessive staining, internal damage, smoking, or unpleasant odors will incur charges based on the supplier’s rates, starting from USD 250 plus taxes.
RENTAL DURATION
• Minimum Duration: The minimum rental duration/charge is 1 day.
• Maximum Duration: For rentals longer than 30 days, the renter must return the vehicle to the rental office for maintenance and renewal.
RENTAL QUOTE INCLUDES
• Cancellation and Modifications: Free cancellation or modifications with a full refund up to 48 hours before pick-up time.
• Fees Covered: Airport Surcharge, Vehicle Registration Fee, Energy Recovery Fee, VAT (Value Added Tax).
• Unlimited Mileage within the State of Florida (for non-Florida residents only). Florida residents are eligible for fifty free miles per day. Excess mileage costs USD 0.75 plus tax per extra mile.
• Shuttle Service: Complimentary shuttle service to and from our locations to the Airport Car Rental Center.
RENTAL QUOTE EXCLUDES
• Insurance (SLI, CDW, PAI/PEC).
• Tolls Usage, Toll violation charges, tickets, parking and traffic citations, and related administrative fees.
• Domestic One-Way Rentals: Fees apply between the following locations: MIA-MCO-FLL-TPAMIABEACH.
• Delivery Collections.
• GPS, child seats, etc.
• Towing & recovery charges.
DOMESTIC ONE-WAY TRIPS
Domestic one-way trips are possible for an extra charge:
• MIA to MCO Branch: USD 149.99 plus tax
• MIA to FLL Branch: USD 89.99 plus tax
• MIA to TPA Branch: USD 149.99 plus tax
• MCO to FLL Branch: USD 149.99 plus tax
• MCO to TPA Branch: USD 110 plus tax • TPA to FLL Branch: USD 149.99 plus tax
RENTAL RESTRICTIONS
• Vehicles can only be driven within the state of Florida. Under no circumstances may the vehicle leave the State of Florida. Otherwise, the renter will be charged a USD 1,000 plus tax cross-border fine, along with a mileage charge of USD 0.25 plus tax per mile for the entire rental mileage.
• International rentals and cross-border rentals are not allowed.
• Florida and Georgia residents are eligible for 50 free miles per day. Excess mileage costs USD 0.75 plus tax per extra mile, Florida and Georgia residents must provide their own insurance with full coverage and a major credit card, both in the name of the main driver.
• Prohibited Uses: It is prohibited to use the vehicle for transportation network services (e.g., Uber or Lyft), food or delivery services (e.g., Uber Eats, Postmates, Instacart), or any other commercial purpose. Additional provisions for prohibited uses will be listed in the rental contract if applicable.
EARLY RETURN, LATE PICKUP, NO-SHOW, AND LATE DROP-OFF POLICIES
a) Early Return: There is no refund for early return. All amounts paid are non-refundable. No exceptions.
b) No-Show Policy: If the renter does not appear within 1 hour after the scheduled pick-up time, THE COMPANY has the right to declare a NO-SHOW event and may not provide a car if the renter shows up later. However, if the customer contacts us and notifies us about the change in advance, the reservation will be subject to the availability of our vehicles. If the vehicle is available after placing a NO-SHOW on the reservation, a reinstatement fee of USD 65 plus taxes may apply.
c) Late Return: The vehicle must be returned by the date and time indicated in the Rental Agreement. There is a 1-hour grace period for returning the vehicle free of charge, depending on the hour of pickup. Otherwise, a Late Return charge of USD 65 plus tax may be applied or 1 day of rental, whichever is higher.
d) Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be made through the original booking source or notified in writing to our email address: help@rentcar.rent. Once the rental vehicle has been checked out of our location, cancellations are not allowed, and the reservation will not be considered cancelled, but completed.
LOST KEYS OR FOBS
If keys or fobs are lost or severely damaged, a Lost Key charge minimum USD 450 plus tax is applied (subject to the vehicle model). Additionally, there will be charges for keys/fobs delivery or vehicle towing to our nearest location. If you accidentally lock the keys or key fobs inside the vehicle and request assistance, we will charge you for the cost of delivering replacement keys (key fobs) and/or unlocking the vehicle, and/or towing the vehicle to our nearest location, depending on the circumstances. All these charges can be deducted from your security deposit or charged from the card on file.
REFUELING REQUIREMENTS ON RETURN
• Our vehicle fuel policy is back-to-back. If we provided the vehicle with a full tank, it must be returned with the same amount of fuel to avoid additional charges. If the car is returned with a lesser amount of fuel, a refueling charge of USD 7.99 per gallon will apply. Please note that any unused fuel is not refundable.
• The vehicle must be fueled with the correct fuel type, any damage resulting from improper fueling of the vehicle will be your responsibility.
TOLLS SERVICE / ELECTRONIC TRANSPONDER USE
In Florida, most roads, bridges, tunnels, and express lanes allow you to use a toll service, which grants renters the possibility of unlimited use of all Florida tolls.
• Toll Service: While toll service is not mandatory, all our rental cars come equipped with a non-removable transponder that is securely attached to the windshield. Unfortunately, personal transponder devices from customers are not allowed for use in our vehicles.
• Transponder/ other devices Integrity: If a customer removes the pre-installed transponder or other devices, it may lead to damage, resulting in a fine of USD 250 plus tax. All transponders are provided with a seal confirming the integrity of the device. A transponder with a damaged seal is considered damaged.
We collaborate with a third-party company that offers two toll options:
Billing: The billing of the tolls
1) Unlimited Toll Option: Of USD 14.99 plus tax per day, enjoy unlimited toll use with no charges after the rental ends.
2) Decline Toll Service: If you choose this option, of USD 24.99 plus tax admin fee per day, plus the value of the tolls consumed if tolls are used during the rental period.
TICKETS, CITATIONS, FINES, CLAIMS, AND INFRACTIONS
a) Renter Responsibility: The renter is responsible for all tickets, parking and traffic citations, and any other fines incurred during the rental period.
b) Admin Fees for Tickets and Citations: An admin fee USD 95 plus tax applies to each ticket or citation, if any. This fee covers post expenses, notary expenses, and our administrative costs. If the vehicle is towed due to parking in a prohibited area, failure to pay parking fees, or involvement in an accident, additional expenses from the towing company may apply. In such cases, a fee of USD 375 plus tax would be applicable for notarial expenses and administrative costs.
PAYMENTS
• The following payment methods are accepted: MasterCard, Visa, Diners, Discover. American Express it’s not accepted.
• It is necessary to present a valid credit card in the rental office in the name of the main driver to pre-authorize or charge the deposit amount.
• Additional Insurance (Collision Damage Waiver CDW) with zero excess/deductible must be purchased if using the following payment method(s): Cash, Debit cards.
INSURANCE POLICY
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) can be declined using your credit card if the insurance offered by the card provides the necessary coverage. This option is available only if the payment for the car rental is made at the counter with the same credit card used on the website for prepayment. (if applicable)
There is an additional charge for Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), subject to the vehicle category and excess amount see below.

Liability Insurance Requirement
All renters are required to maintain valid liability insurance coverage for the duration of the rental period. If the renter is unable to provide proof of active liability insurance at the time of rental, a liability insurance policy will be made available for purchase at the rental counter.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, SLI provides the renter and authorized drivers with up to USD 1,000,000.00 combined single limit for third-party liability claims.
There is an additional charge of USD 15.99 per day for Supplemental Liability Insurance
NON-US RESIDENTS:
To prove a customer’s non-US residence, the customer must be able to provide, upon our demand:
• A Driver’s License from their country of residence in the customer’s name.
• A returning ticket to their country of residence in the customer’s name, with a departure date.
US RESIDENTS:
US residents must provide their own proof insurance as a DECLARATION PAGE, your policy must be transferable to non-owned auto and for personal use.
• We accept insurance from the following companies: State Farm, Liberty Mutual, Geico, Progressive, All State, USAA, Esurance, Farm Bureau, AMICA, SafeCo, National General, Erie, Farmers, Travelers, AAA, Nationwide, Rental Cover (only collision), TravelGuard (only collision), Generali (only collision), Allianz (only collision), Credit Card Collision Coverage (subject to coverage verification) and any other insurance policy under the name of the renter, subject to coverage verification by our personnel by contacting the insurance.
• If you have your own insurance, you must provide your insurance DECLARATION PAGE, it must be printed within prior to the pickup of the vehicle. Alternatively, presenting the information in a mobile app at the time of pickup is acceptable. This information must match the name, last name, and address of the main driver on the reservation. The insurance must show/include a minimum USD Liability coverage, Florida State Minimums are required.
• Provide full (collision and comprehensive) coverage for the rental vehicle or another valid proof of insurance.
• The address on your driver’s license must match the address listed on your insurance policy.
INSURANCE RULES
• Policy Coverage and Valid Claims: If your policy coverage or any valid claims are refused by your insurance carrier, you will be financially responsible for repair costs and additional associated expenses such as: Loss of use, administrative fee, depreciation vehicle, appraisal fee, towing and notarial expenses, etc.
• Waiver Deductible: most insurance coverage has a deductible amount. The renter may reduce the deductible amount to zero (waiver deductible) by paying an extra charge of USD19.99 USD per day, provided that the vehicle is used in accordance with the Rental Agreement terms and conditions.
• Minor Damage to Rented Vehicle: In case of minor damage to a rented vehicle (such as scratches, dents, etc.) that does not make the car inoperable (not all damages require immediate repair), the rental agency reserves the right to: Charge the customer’s credit card or withhold the required amount for future repairs from the security deposit or card in file, based on market rates, an Adm fee of USD 350 plus tax per affected panel may be charged in addition to the actual repair cost.
• Your responsibility limits will be determined by the excess of the plan selected for your insurance coverage.
Items Inside the Car:
• Items inside the car are not subject to insurance coverage, except when the renter has purchased the PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) / PEC (Personal Effects Coverage) insurance.
Voiding of Insurance Coverage:
• TPL (Third Party Liability), CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance), and Excess Protection may be voided if the renter breaches the Rental Agreement terms and conditions or if the accident/incident/loss occurred because of a prohibited use. (see back of the rental agreement).
Reporting Accidents or Losses:
• The renter must immediately inform the rental agency about any accidents or damage, even if they are minor, noncompliance with these terms may void TPL, SLI, CDW, PAI/PEC, Excess Protection, if applicable.
• The renter it is prohibited to leave the place of an accident without an issued police report, as it may be considered a “hit and run,” which is a criminal offense under Florida law, unless your life is in imminent danger.
• The renter is responsible for all damage inflicted on the rental unit, even when said damage is inflicted by a third party.
MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES
• Infant / Child / Booster Safety Seats: Available USD 6.99 plus tax per day. The renter is solely responsible for the proper choice and installation of a child safety seat.
• Glass and Tire Cover (GTC): Available USD 4.99 plus tax per day.
• PAI / PEI Insurance: Available USD 6.99 plus tax per day.
• Roadside Assistance: Available USD 2.50 plus tax per day.
• Local Unlimited Miles for Florida-Georgia Residents: Available USD 19.99 plus tax per day.
• Cell Phone SIM Card: Available USD 50 plus tax each.
AFTER - HOURS RETURN
For your convenience, we offer a VIP service at a cost of USD 150 plus taxes for returning outside of our regular service hours at the airport. Please call for more information or inquire at the counter.
DISCLAIMER
The general policies presented do not include the complete terms listed on the rental agreement as these will be presented at the time of checkout of the vehicle.
COMPANY DECLARATION
We make reasonable commercial efforts to ensure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other platforms. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms and conditions, as well as the prevailing law covering the rental, are those stated on the rental contract presented at the rental location. Please take the time to read our General Policy for valuable information. If you have any questions, feel free to call us. Reservations are valid until one hour after the pickup time.

The photos that appear on our website are only representations of the vehicle type or category that may be available at your selected branch at the time of car pickup. The Company cannot guarantee that any specific vehicle or color will be offered or available at the time of pickup due to fleet variances in availability, location, date, or other factors impacting the actual fleet at the time of pickup.

PREPAID RESERVATIONS
Mex Rent A Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if it considers that the driver is not able to drive or if the driver does not comply with the rules described on these terms, even if the booking has been prepaid. Therefore, it is very important that you comply with the terms and the documents that need to be presented at pick up. For more information, please contact us at +52 (33) 4624 2114.
CANCELLATIONS
If your booking was confirmed through the website www.mexrentacar.com or through our Call Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to request your cancellation. If your booking was confirmed through a third-party website (broker, online travel agency, etc.) please use the same third-party website to request your cancellation. Some third-party sites have cancellation fees if the booking is not canceled within a certain period of time. Mex Rent a Car will not be responsible for such cancellation fees.
ONLINE BOOKINGS
Rates that are impacted by a website technical issue, database issue or other means will not be honored by the location if the rate display was inaccurate due to a technical issue or tampering issue to change the rate display.
