ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Thank you for choosing Mex Rent-A-Car Colombia. Our agents will be waiting for you upon arrival, holding a sign with the Mex Rent A Car logo.

Bogotá Airport (BOG): A representative will be waiting at gate 4 to proceed with the vehicle delivery. If you have any questions, please contact us at +57 31 1806 0834.

 

RULES

It is important to know what documentation will be requested when you pick up your car:

  • Official identification (ID or passport).
  • Valid driver's license (must be more than 1 year old and in Roman alphabet).
  • Credit card.
  • Voucher or proof of reservation confirmation.

 

The same credit card or cardholder cannot be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same period of time.

 

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

The second driver is free of charge. A fee of $10.00 USD per day plus tax will be charged for each additional driver.

 

AGE

The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years old. A fee of $20.00 USD per day plus tax will be charged for renters between the ages of 21 and 24.

 

MILEAGE

Mileage is unlimited. 

 

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

Baby seats can be rented at the counter for $8.00 USD per day plus tax.

 

FUEL

All vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when they were delivered at the beginning of the rental to avoid fuel refill charges.

 

PROTECTION AND INSURANCE

All reservations made through www.mexrentacar.com include:

  • TPL (Third Party Liability Insurance): Covers damage to third parties up to $800,000,000 USD.
  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver): Covers damage caused by collision with a 10% deductible.

 

RETURN TO ANOTHER BRANCH

Rentals with return to another branch are possible. A drop-off fee will be applied. 

CAR CLEANING

Cars are delivered clean and must be returned in the same condition to avoid cleaning fees. Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. If smoke is detected, a cleaning fee will apply.

 

GRACE PERIOD

Your reservation will have a grace period of 1 hour after your confirmed arrival time. After this time, we cannot guarantee the reserved unit, but you can be sure that we will do our best to offer you a mobility solution. If you contact us or arrive later to access the service, the rental company will consider rescheduling, which will be subject to the availability of the reserved vehicle and the business hours at the chosen location.

 

PAYMENTS

We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) with a minimum expiration date of 6 months from the date of vehicle rental.

We do not accept virtual prepaid cards, cards with dynamic CVV, Discover or Diners cards, or cash.

 

The deposit will be held for 10 business days after the return. However, it may take up to a month for the deposit to be released, depending on your bank's administration. Please also note that traffic fines may be notified in the months following the rental. In this case, you must assume the costs of the fine and the administrative fee imposed by the company.

 

CANCELLATIONS

If your reservation was confirmed through the website www.mexrentacar.com or through our Reservation Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to cancel it. If your reservation was confirmed through a third-party site (broker, online travel agency, etc.), please use the same channel to request your cancellation. Some third-party sites charge cancellation fees if the reservation is not canceled within a certain period of time prior to your rental. Mex Rent a Car is not responsible for such cancellation fees.
